Changed Habits

Before the new year a lot of people made resolutions or some variant of that to try and “start fresh” or make self changes for the new year. Maybe some old habits that you don’t really like and want to change.
Studies show that it takes a minimum of 21 days to break an old habit and on average 66 days to form a new one. So if you’re that someone who’s wondering why you’re still doing the same things from before, it’s because our minds are so used to “ the norm.” But it’s up to you to keep working at whatever you’re trying to change.
A lot of times it’s difficult to just up and change something about our lives or ourselves so sometimes we might say “forget it” and just fall back into old ways.
Frustration is normal but instead of giving up, try to find a substitute for what it is you’re trying to change. If you’re trying to change your spending habits then write out a budget and look at that budget daily. Don’t expect to stick to the budget the first or second time. When you get the urge to buy something maybe substitute it with going to the gym instead, of reading a book you need to catch up on.
If doing it yourself seems impossible. Find a friend that will hold you accountable. Maybe someone who’s working on ridding the same habit as you are so that you can hold each other accountable . Having someone to hold you accountable can help to keep you on track.
There are so many habits that I’m working on myself as well like procrastination and how I react to things. I’ve been working on these things for months, but I’ve been taking it day by day . There are days where I’ve seen a lot of progress and other days where I felt like I took 10 steps backward, but at the end of the day I haven’t given up. Dont give up, it’s all apart of the progress
In the comments below tell me some of your habits that you’re working on and how you’re currently trying to change them!! I’m rooting for you !
